Family
Emerald is a part of multiple families. She has 1 biological sister and 3 step sisters. She loves all her sisters and her step-parents are wonderful people. Some of her favorite memories with her family are of playing board games and card games in both childhood and adulthood. Her families try to gather regularly and simply spend time together. She takes trips with her family when she can and loves to make new memories with everyone in her family from grandparents to nieces and nephews.
Hobbies
Emerald has many hobbies that she enjoys. First and foremost, she loves to read and write. Her collection of books is ever-growing and her e-book collection is even larger. She hopes one day to have a room that is a dedicated library in her home.
She loves to craft all sorts of new things. Emerald can find a craft and design something similar, if not better, on her own. She loved quilting with her step-mom as she grew up and her love for sewing has spread into many areas of creativity. She often makes flower arrangements for her family and friends, including her own and her mother's wedding bouquets. She loves to create anything with her hands.
Baking is another hobby that she enjoys. Finding new recipes and twisting them to become her own is one of her favorite ways to destress. She even bakes with some friends to share the tasty treats that she creates.
Emerald loves to go to plays and symphonies whenever she can. She sang in many choirs while growing up and continues to enjoy musical artistry.
She loves to spend time with her friends, no matter what the activity is. She can often be found with her closest friends playing games, going out for food, running through escape rooms, and sharing her many hobbies.
She also shares many hobbies with her husband, Ryan, including video games, board games, Dungeons & Dragons, camping, and Hiking.
Of every hobby that she has, her Halloween tradition tops the list. Halloween is Emerald's favorite holiday by far. Every year - providing circumstances allow it - she hosts a Halloween party for her friends and family. There are always themes to her parties and a costume contest to match. She has had themes such as Alice in Wonderland, Space, Heroes, and Puns. There are always games to play and laughs to be shared.
Work and Education
Emerald went to college at Utah State University, where she met her loving husband, Ryan. She graduated with an associate's degree and plans to go back to school at some point in the future; if she decides she wants to publish the books that she writes.
As for work, Emerald does a lot of odd jobs for friends and family. She often does photography jobs for people she knows. These jobs are usually family photos but have also included Bridal photos, newborn photos, party photography, engagement photos, maternity photos, and pregnancy announcements. Around the holiday season, many of the people she knows will also hire her to make a handful of custom gifts for them. She loves doing odd jobs and seeing people smile when they receive her finished work.
Traveling
Ryan and Emerald both love to travel the world. Emerald didn't get to travel much when she was younger. Now that she can, she makes it a priority to travel somewhere new at least once a year. Her goal is to stay in every state in the US and as many countries as she can.
Within the United States, Ryan and Emerald have traveled to Florida, Arizona, and Minnesota. If they are making a road trip out of the vacation instead of flying, they stop to visit places along the way as he always did with his family growing up. Outside of the United States, they have visited Canada, Honduras, Mexico, and Belize.
Of all of the places she and Ryan have traveled, anywhere with water has been her favorite. She loves oceans, lakes, and rivers all the same. But, she still enjoys hiking in forests and through beautiful landscapes.
She often loves to travel with friends and family. She has even started a tradition with a close friend of hers where they get matching Henna tattoos whenever they vacation together.
Emerald's love of traveling stems from the enjoyment of trying new things. Since she started traveling she has gotten to try many new and exciting things like parasailing, holding beautiful animals, snorkeling, snowmobiling, and riding on an airboat through the Everglades.
Emerald loves to travel with Ryan and plans to share that love with her future children.
